PFCA and the OIFA Advisory Council would like to honor the legacy of our board member and colleague Tony Smith who was a dedicated leader, advocate, and champion of peer and family support. He strongly believed in recovery, quality of services, ensuring outcomes, and voice and choice for members and their families. He was a dedicated family member and community leader whose impact we intend to honor for years to come. Nominees must be an Individual with a Peer Recovery Support Specialist Credential or Credentialed Family Support Partner who has delivered services for a minimum of 6 months and has contributed to the workforces in one or more of the following ways;
1. Ensuring meaningful participation in one’s care (“Nothing about us without us”).
2. Empowering and protecting member voice and choice within system transformation efforts.
3. Recognizing individual strengths and carrying hope for others.
4. Advocating for the provision of quality, trauma-informed behavioral health service delivery.
5. Utilizing lived experience to enhance the professional development of the behavioral health workforce.
6. Engaging in community volunteering activities showcasing their passion to give back to the community.
7. Working to identify and fill gaps in community resources and service delivery.
